1 commentLet your Katamari hang out and start rolling, Gamestop swindles an early release again

Holding on to my own copy of Katamari Forever as of two days ago, I was quite astonished to have it what seems to be ‘early’.

We’re simply waiting on more Pro models to be phased out. At work today I took a look at the new box for XB360 Elites, it DID NOT include the Pro model on the side table any longer nor did we get shipped any additional XB360 Pros (Also, the Elite will no longer come with HDMI cables…just AV).
1 commentPersona 3 Portable

Persona 3 is coming to the PSP. Scans have been floating around from inside of Famitsu’s newest issue where the information has been derived. Due to Persona 4’s strong reception both in Japan and in the States we should be seeing this one in the US. Rumors abound that you will be able to play the all-new female character pictured above as the main character. Possibly following in the footsteps of Harvest Moon, details remain to be seen.

3 commentsTop Five Videogames Items I’d Strap on in Real Life
#1 - The Triforce
(From The Legend of Zelda series, this legendary item grants wishes to those who touch it)
This is my easy everything in one item….seeing as it grants wishes - I just can’t conceive of what exactly I’d wish for at this point. Obviously though, having wishes granted is top notch.
#2 - Portal Gun
(As seen in Portal - creates two portals, an entrance and an exit)

Not just for getting from point A to point B….As is evidenced in this picture
1 commentMarvel Versus Capcom 2 Finally releases on PSN Tomorrow “Gonna take you for a….”
August 13th, roughly two weeks after the similar Xbox Live release (Fuel for the console wars). While I waited it out simply to use the more responsive D-Pad on the PS3 controllers…this sort of staggered release is rather bogus, especially for a download title. According to JC Fletcher (as the link he posted to the evidence as of this post is no longer available) what PSN users are going to receive in compensation is an exclusive boxed retail package which “will release on August 13 for $19.99 ($5 more than the cost of the game) and include a redemption code (obviously), a DVD case, a disc containing exclusive wallpapers and other media, an 8-page manual, one month of free access to Marvel Digital Comics, and 2,000 Capcom Unity points, which are used on the Capcom site to participate in auctions.” I have been hearing this information floating around ever since Gamestop originally listed it in thier computers.

See the original post here: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/24/gamestop-lists-ps3-only-retail-box-for-marvel-vs-capcom-2/
Update via my co-worker T Collins: “The Retail box only has the game code and 1 month of Marvel Digital comics. Everything else was taken out. But they lowered the price to 14.99″

1 commentVisit to Dragon Ages’ site - Hilarity Ensues

If only trailers could always be of the caliber portrayed on Bioware’s Dragon Age site. As they have produced a spoof trailer which essentially features live-action-roleplaying. While the game in its’ own right is extremely promising the spoof trailer linked after the jump is worth at least a watch as it’s the sort of thing that’s ‘awful’ enough that much humor can be found. Hit the jump for the rest of the article and follow the link to check it out especially if you have ever enjoyed watching ‘C’ movies or otherwise.

Demon’s Souls

After reading about how old-school punishing this game is….I was deeply intrigued especially when I read an article (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3172516) detailing a 3 point gap (9 to 6) between two of Famitsu’s reviewers where the quotes that Nick Des Barres points out - the reviewer on the low end simply complains about inaccessibility and difficulty where as the other reviewer finds it to hearken straight from the retro days and to be extremely rewarding…”The basis of this game is trial and error… the lack of checkpoints in the stages is punishing,” wrote Leona Ebihara, while Sugashi Kawada said, “Since death means the end in this game, I might compare it to an expert chess problem.” After reading that I find myself greatly amused as it has become so commonplace in games these days for ‘death’ to not mean ‘game over’ or ‘the end’ to a point where you can even say that “death means the end in this game” as death is no longer an end in games.
2 commentsFat Princess: Networking Code Revamped and Streamlined

For those of you who were having to wait up to what seemed like seven eons and a day to connect to a game, feel blessed by the gaming gods with this new turn of events. After a couple of hours putting my time in making princesses fat everywhere I am delighted to say that the average time it took for me to join a game was about 25-30 seconds (down from an average of around 3 minutes for me), which is very solid especially considering the matches are up to 16 on 16 players…in addition to having mostly lag free matches. So if, like me…you were about ready to retire your many faceted magical cap for something different you’d best put on your robe and cap for a few more guiltless hours of pleasure with combustible chibi humans. To get all the details (patch notes for starters) take a look into the company blog at http://titanstudios.com/blog/ and take note of some proposed future updates which could make this game much more well rounded.
