No commentsMuramasa: The Demon Blade - Born Early at Gamestop

As I have been following this title for awhile it was somewhat confusing to me to see that Gamestop is now shipping this title (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=73359) where as many others including IGN and Amazon denote the release date as the 8th. I have acquired myself a copy from Gamestop as of today and can attest to its’ availability at my locale.
Gamestop slip up? Shipped early/some sort of deal Gamestop made without my knowledge? I’m just happy to say that if you head to Gamestop you should be able to purchase Muramasa today.
No commentsAnd Yet, It Is Incredible
And Yet It Moves, a puzzling solving platformer from independent developer developer Broken Rules for the Mac, PC, and soon coming to WiiWare, will instantly make you think of Braid. Though the two games look and play nothing alike, Braid has somewhat become the mantle-piece for indie games in the gaming subconcious, the shining example of the greatness than can be achieved without a big-name publisher and developers who want to think outside of the box. It doesn’t help that both are platformers, either, but as soon as you set your fingers to the five keys that control the world of And Yet It Moves you will become engrossed in a game that stands alone. Fat Dudes and Rubber Bands: Week 1 update and review
According to EA Active, this video may just be the pinnacle of exercise. READ ON TO SEE WHY!
Last week, I gave my background story on why I picked up EA Sports Active, and gave some initial measurements of my fatness. So, how did I fare this week with Active? Did I lose any weight? Did I decide to just hop on a treadmill? Did I realize being fat is awesome in this day and age of triple-bypass surgeries and just binge on doughnuts and whole milk?
…now I want a doughnut… Read more
6 commentsFat Dudes and Rubber Bands: My first day with EA Active

So, I’ve been a fat dude for awhile, and, for the past three years or so, I was fairly comfortable with it. I had a girlfriend, I was in a small, close-knit community where everyone knew me, and I generally didn’t feel it really was holding me back. However, in the past two months, a lot has changed. I’ve graduated and moved back home to a city full of strangers, my girlfriend and I broke up, and now some of my favorite shirts are gettin a bit tight. I decided it was time to do something about my jiggly bits, but I was too nervous to go a gym (OMG, a gamer with social malfunctions? NO WAI), don’t have the money for a personal trainer, and, honestly, I HATE working out. So, I looked into EA Active, the latest in the long line of fitness products for the Wii. I still had some graduation money to burn, so I figured, why the hell not? Read more
Gaming Mechanic 101 - Nintendo Finds its Roots, Again
Aside from the rather stellar adaptation of Resident Evil 4 for Wii, last Tuesday there was an influx of a couple more Gamecube titles released on the Wii with Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis. Obviously Nintendo continues its profiteering with a trend of re-releasing titles. Of course, none of that holds a candle to the cash cow Nintendo is reaping in with distributed ‘shovel-ware’ and brand marketing muscle ‘casual appeal’ of the Wii.
The question is not “who is the Commander” but “why should we care”
tl;dr Viral marketing is a tricky business, and these guys aren’t good at it. If it weren’t for IGN and its claims, we’d never guess that this obscure video is supposed to advertise or relate to an upcoming Wii exclusive.
Should I be excited or shouldn’t I? I can’t tell from this film clip, which IGN says is supposed to advertise or at least relate to an upcoming exclusive Nintendo Wii title. Apparently, they got an anonymous e-Mail that made these claims, but if it weren’t for IGN’s hinting, we’d never guess.
If we take IGN’s word and assume that the clip does have some significance, then we can try and analyze it for any clue as to what kind of title’s coming out. There’s a brief but noticeable glimpse of a retro-style gaming screen in the art style of Geometry Wars, perhaps suggesting another casual title along the lines of Boom Blox or Wii Play. IGN did indeed say that one of the frames from the clip contains a glimpse of “the Wii title itself”.
5 commentsIn Case You Missed This– Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection (Wii)
I love Amazon’s Gold Box sales. You can get tons of crap that you could have easily lived without if it hadn’t been so cheap. I found myself wasting my Friday two weeks ago purchasing practically every Wii title Amazon was offering. I purchased Crave Entertainment’s Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection thinking that I would play the game once and retire it to my self just as quickly. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Hit the jump to find out why.
