Downloadable Wii Crap Monday: 9/15/08

Check it out, bitches; it’s Monday, which means that Nintendo is once again going to try to entice you to spend your rent money, grocery money, and tuition on downloadable content. This week brings us a whopping two WiiWare titles and one thoroughly kick-ass NES game. Hit the jump to see what they are instead of just checking the Wii Shop channel yourself (which, if my Wii is any indication of everybody else’s, would probably take several hours of loading time.)

Mega Man 2 (500 Wii Points) is effing hard. Considered by many as the greatest Mega Man game (which is totally bogus… my vote goes towards Mega Man X), Mega Man 2 offers up 8 levels, 8 robot masters, 8 new powers, and some of the kick-ass-iest music this side of Donkey Kong Country.

Are you an attractive person? Do you enjoy cool games? Well, you surely must have picked up the original Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, then. If you feel like that adventure wasn’t quite enough to quench your appetite for Homestar Runner-themed adventure, you’re in luck. Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People: Episode 2: Strong Badia the Free (1000 Wii Points) is also out today! Get it if you want to astonish people with a ridiculously long title when anybody asks you what you’ve been playing.

Lastly, Wii Ware also delivers the long-awaited Potpourrii (800 Wii Points). Wait, did I say “long-awaited?” What I meant to say is that I’ve never even heard of this game. It looks like it’s just Bust-a-Move, but all the little colored marbles are in the middle of a circular board and the shooter thingie swings around the perimeter. Could be decent, and the art style is actually kinda neat.

So yeah… I’m going to do my history reading that’s due in 45 minutes now. Goodbye, internet! <3

Potpourri actually looks like it might be a pretty nuanced and clever use for the Wiimote’s pointer function. If only I could try out the demo…
