Virtual Console/WiiWare Monday: 8/18/08

Yep, it’s that time again! As you can probably tell by my header image, the Blue Bomber is amongst those being slapped onto Nintendo’s download service today. Who’s joined him, though? Hit the jump to see!
Mega Man’s (500 Wii Points) NES debut is finally available, no doubt in preparation for the release of the upcoming Mega Man 9. While the original isn’t quite as spectacular as its direct sequel (which is also available on the Virtual Console), it’s still a classic game that launched the career of one of the most successful gaming mascots in the world. If you never got the chance to play this one before, it’s definitely worth the $5 asking price.
Next is Neo Turf Masters (900 Wii Points) for the Neo Geo. While I would dissuade anybody from purchasing a golfing game on a system that came with a golf sim in most territories, Neo Turf Masters achieved a level of polish rarely seen in sports games. Really, it’s one of the prettiest games I’ve ever seen on the Neo Geo. If you’re a golfing fan, this might be worth taking a look at.

WiiWare brings us Midnight Pool (800 Wii Points), which looks like an average billiards game. If it’s anything like the version released on the N-gage, it’s probably completely overlookable. Don’t be fooled by the jubblies on the cover art of this game; it’s probably not worth $8.
That does it for this week. See ya!

Meh. I’ve already got the Mega Man Anniversary Collection, so I can play Mega Man, even though I don’t care to.
Same here. The Mega Man Anniversary Collection is probably one of the greatest deals ever. Even if I think every mega man from 4 on up is forgettable, 1, 2 and 3 are so awesome.
Sounds like I need to pick up the Anniversary Collection because (dear god, be gentle) I’ve never played a Mega Man title without an X in it.
More alarming is the fact that I can’t click through for that free check. If that little blue bastard is down there, I need to know ASAP.
