New Prince of Persia info, still more to come

A couple of days ago, Bfeld informed us that a new Prince of Persia game was in the works. Ubisoft said the game would introduce a “new breed of gameplay” and “brand-new illustrative art style.”
Well, Bfeld called it, and was totally correct: the game will indeed be cel-shaded. However, he was wrong about the Artist Formerly Known as Prince being a playable character.
Joypad magazine, the French version of Edge, published a preview of the new Prince of Persia title. The article reveals several new bits on the game such as the game releasing for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, and it having nothing to do at all with the previous PoP games.
Jean-Christophe Guyot, creative director of the new PoP, told Joypad the change of art direction was to help create a “more poetic vision” than the previous titles. He continued to state,
“The previous trilogy mixed the Arabian Nights in with historical Persia. We decided we’d prefer to return to the tales of the Thousand and One Nights for something more colorful.”
Read on for more info.
He also went on to state the style of the game was “Zelda-esque, old school, with very contrasting levels.”
The new game promises to have a more dynamic camera, less but more vicious enemies, and multiple one-on-one swordfights. The sands of time powers have been removed, but there is a promise that it will be replaced by something that will feature some of the same functions. The game will also allow the Prince travel around the world freely, and take up missions whenever the player wants to.
Not all details have been released yet, but there will sure be some more bits announced at the UbiDays event on May 28 and 29. Make sure to check out Eurogamer’s article on the game, as well as mahajir’s PhotoBucket account for scans of the Joypad preview.

“Very contrasting levels.” Does that mean “We have an ice level, and a lava level, and a forest level, and a future level…”?
Traveling around freely and taking missions anytime seems like it could be awesome. The other games seemed pretty linear…maybe this will be more like Assassin’s Creed (which I’ve never actually played…but it was made by Ubisoft).
Doesn’t sound like he was totally correct.
