Virtual Console Monday: April 27, 2008

Way to stiff us, Nintendo! Just one game this week? Honestly? It might be forgivable if it were an N64 game… say, Majora’s Mask or Jet Force Gemini? But nope, all we get is the fairly-good Double Dragon from the NES. To be fair, the original Double Dragon isn’t bad, it just lacks the single best part about the entire beat-’em-up genre: simultaneous multiplayer. For 500 Wii Points, you can definitely do better *cough*RiverCityRansom*cough* but you could also do a lot worse. After all, what could be better than two greased-up buff dudes rubbing their dragons against each other?

    Wait, this doesn’t have simultaneous multiplayer? Shouldn’t it be called “Single Dragon” in that case?

    P.S. “Gemini” only has one E.

    The first Double Dragon was rather lame. The second one was awesome.
