DC gives us more: Gears of War comic announced

First, DC Comics tells us they’re teaming up with Midway to bring their superheroes to the Mortal Kombat series. Now the company announces that it’s joining with Epic Games to bring a brand new Gears of War comic book.

The comic book is said to debut in October, and will be published by DC’s WildStorm imprint, who also published Alan Moore’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The story will be bridging the gap between the original Gears of War, and its sequel that will be releasing this November, Gears of War 2. No further details have been announced.

Let’s not forget about the Gears of War prequel book, Gears of War: The Pendulum Wars-The Battle of Aspho Fields, that’s coming out in October (date seems to have been pushed back, and since it’s a book, I think I may have been the only one to notice) as well. Both the comic, and book, should keep you occupied just a month before the actual release of Gears of Wars 2 in November.

It’ll be just like the book, but with less reading and more nice drawings. Yay!

Although, considering the amount of story in the first game, maybe they should work on making an awesome, in-depth Gears of War 2 story before they start spreading it out between the game AND the book AND the comic.
