New details on Gears of War 2: “badass” status confirmed
John DiMaggio, who is not only the voice of one of the most badass video game characters ever, Marcus Fenix, but the voice of one of the most badass television characters ever, Bender Bending Rodríguez, revealed some new info about Gears of War 2 in an interview with IGN. There isn’t anythig surprising in the excerpts posted, but when all we have so far is a stylish trailer and some statistics about the original’s sales, even obvious details seem worth posting. First DiMaggio reveals that he will reprise the role of Franklin (a character from the “Nightfall” level) in addition to Marcus Fenix, which hints at possible locations and plot-lines for Gears 2. He also says that you will actually get to fight the Brumak, instead of the cocktease presented in the first game where you saw it but were only allowed to flee. However, you actually fought the Brumak in the PC version, so this isn’t really surprising; it’s just the console version catching up to the PC.
It is obvious to most that understand how sequels work that there will be new weapons, characters, and enemies, and DiMaggio confirms it: “there’s new weapons, new beasts, there’s a couple of new characters, and it’s just badass.” The story will be ramped up as well, and “it looks cool as s—. The storylines are really cool and the relationships of the guys in the game – the sequences that explain things that are going on – they’re a lot deeper.”
That’s right, straight from the mouth of Marcus Fenix and Bender, Gears of War 2 will be “badass” and “cool as shit*.” If you weren’t excited already, you definitely should be now.
*Since IGN censored that word it could technically be any four letter word that starts with “s,” like snow or snot, but I went ahead and guessed at exactly what he said

DiMaggio did Wakka? I had no idea.
Do I really [i]want[/i] more plot depth and character development in [i]Gears 2[/i]? I kind of just want to chainsaw people in half some more.
