Rumor: Insomniac Games Has Pinball Machines, oh, and Resistance 2 Dated
Watch the above YouTube video. Did you catch it? Near the end there. That’s right, 0708. What does that mean? Why are they covering it up? Could that be a release date for an upcoming Insomniac game? Sure looks like it. And what upcoming game does Insomniac have? Oh yes, the sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man. Would be a pretty awesome present around that time of year when games aren’t always flooding the market per se.
In more important news: How amazing would it be to work at Insomniac? Pinball machines, putting greens, weekly massages! How do these guys find time to make games, and really amazing games at that? Plus they write some pretty catchy music too. Of course, keep in mind that this is all rumors, especially the weekly massages, those couldn’t really happen. Damn, I read the title and thought that it meant Insomniac was developing their own pinball machine. That would be hot.
After actually watching the video (I was strapped for time earlier), I’d say it’s pretty clear that’s the date for Resistance 2. I’m surprised there was no mention in the article about the “12 new Chimaeran enemies” part, though. Seems like a worthwhile thing to write up, for the people too lazy to watch videos.
Another thing I thought was cool is that they actually have purple halls. I forget which Ratchet game it was (it had to be either Going Commando or Up Your Arsenal), but there was a bonus area that was modeled after Insomniac Studios, and it looked a lot like that.
I also didn’t realize Insomniac is based in Burbank. That’s like, half an hour away from where I am. If only I had any sort of artistic/design/computer programming skills…
the date is for the E3 2008 Conference. This means that there will be bid info released in that conference. A realse date maybe?
