Recieve Money for Being Offended. Hot Coffee Settlement Means $35 For You.

A while back when the lawsuit against Rockstar for the now notorious Hot Coffee Mod was settled it was reported that people would be able to get money for all the trouble it caused them. Now you can go to the retribution site and ease all that pain seeing a digital couple copulating caused you. More likely you’ll be easing all that pain that not seeing a digital couple copulating caused you, seeing as Hot Coffee wasn’t even that easy to get to in the first place and if you played GTA: San Andreas on a console you couldn’t see it at all. In short, as long as you have a first editon copy of the game bought before July, 20, 2005, you can get upwards of $35, even if you didn’t really see anything offensive or weren’t offended in the first place. I might just do it becasue I’m offended by the fact that shooting random people and stealing their cars isn’t offensive but a tame sex scene in a blatantly mature game is.
Hit the jump to find out what you need to get your hard earned money.
If you feel that you were emotionally damaged by the Hot Coffee Mod in GTA: San Andreas and that that damage would be easily repaired by some sort of money being sent your way then you have four options:
- If you have a reciept then you may turn that in and recieve $35
- If you have a credit card statment or cancelled check proving purchase then you may recieve $17.50
- If you only have the disc but no proof of purchase you may recieve $10
- If you have nothing you may still be elligible to recive $5 (ummm, what?)
Of course if the mod has been keeping you from playing GTA: San Andreas and you just want a replacement disc so you can finally enjoy mowing down every civillian you can find in a stolen car then you can get a copy of the game without the Hot Coffee code on it by turning in your tarnished disc. Think anyone is going to take advantage of this? Sounds like free money to me. Now, if you’ll excuse me I have to go shake my head in disbelief for an hour or so.

Why is there a price differential between having a receipt and having a credit card statement or check proving purchase?
Its the law Poopface, it doesn’t have to make sense.
I bought my copy after they re-released it without Hot Coffee, but I wouldn’t do this anyway, because it’s stupid, and if anybody actually takes advantage of this, he’s a dick.
