THQ Drops The Banhammer On Multiple Games & IPs

By Woody

No More Stuntman

So far, THQ, developer of such series as Saints Row and Destroy All Humans, has had a good fiscal year. This is in thanks to the somewhat surprising success of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008 and MX vs. ATV, but not so much in part to Stuntman: Ignition, Ratatouille, and Conan. In response to the negative performance of the latter games, THQ has lightened its schedule accordingly.

THQ has made the executive decision to cancel the PS3 version of Frontlines: Fuel of War and the PS2 game Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed. In addition they announced their decision “not to pursue its Juiced and Stuntman intellectual properties.”

Personally, I’m not too bummed about any of this. This move should just give THQ the ability to get the true Destroy All Humans sequel and Saints Row 2 out sooner. Is anyone here really going to miss the Stuntman or Juiced series?

I always thought Stuntman was an alright IP. I work at a game store and when we would put out Stunt Man Ignition on the 360 we’d get groups of kids in there playing. Although…… I did wait til it dropped in price to get it. So, there you go…… I won’t miss it. Not with games like BO Paradise coming out! That shit is hot!!
