Microsoft Gives Out Free Game, Not Master Chief Hugs

By Razak

The wild caribou. Majestic in its nature, still has many predators and must be constantly alert. If a lion or tiger attacks it’s speed may help it escape, but the lion too has speed so the caribou must rely on a sharp eye and avoiding the even sharper teeth of its hunter.

Well color me a little dissapointed. As we reported before Microsoft is going to be making up for all that lagging and down time we’ve been experiencing over XBox Live. Sadly, unlike what I had hoped, we will not be getting hugs from Master Chief but, as Major Nelson tells us via a letter from Marc Whitten GM of Xbox LIVE, we will be getting a free XBox Live game of some sort. Hooray, I guess. This is a lesson, kids. Never get your hopes up. They’ll just be dashed when reality strikes and you’re staring a free mystery game in the face wishing it was the strong arms of the Chief wrapped around your…I digress.

Also of note is the fact that Microsoft is blaming the recent lagging and down time on the insane popularity of Live . I was under the impression that I paid them money so that they would be ready for a “massive increase in usage” but I guess once again I am left dissapointed.

Um. I’m not sure I *get* the gazelle reference. Is this one of those newfangled Internet things I keep hearing about?

Is ‘giving out a free game’ the new ‘We’re sorry?’
