Clinton Will Regulate Games If Elected

While it may have been proven that most gamers don’t care about gaming’s right of free speech this doesn’t mean that our President shouldn’t. This is why, as a registered Democrat, Hilary Clinton has just lost my vote in the primary. She recently responded, late, to Common Sense Media’s survey on how the presidential candidates would deal with gaming rights. All her fellow democrats that responded said they would be fine with letting the industry regulate itself as they thought it was doing a good job and parental education was the place to focus their attention. Clinton, on the other hand, had this to say:
When I am president, I will work to protect children from inappropriate video game content.
Of course this shouldn’t come as a surprise as Clinton already introduced a bill that would regulate game sales two years ago which was oh-so benignly titled the Family Entertainment Protection Act. This is something to strongly consider when choosing who you vote for as changes like this will effect everyone, not just gamers. For the full run down on responses, which every gamer should read before voting, go here.

I haven’t decided who I’m voting for yet…but I just clicked on your links and read responses and I’m confused. Using the responses given in the Common Sense Media site you didn’t quote Clinton correctly, and I’m not sure how even saying she’ll protect kids from games translates into HOW she’ll do it…is that stated by her somewhere and if so, would you mind providing the link? Thanks.
This will turn out to be an election where I’m settling for a candidate and not supporting one.
Clinton is Tipper Gore all over again with this BS.

Look at the bottom of her response to that question after she describes the Hot Chocolate debacle. In responding by restating her beliefs in the bill she proposed she is saying she will be regulating games if elected. That is how I read it, anyway.
She is a another crazy democrat that wants to change the constitution because its a *living, breathing* constitution… Give me a break… Do NOT vote for her, because we all know deep down she WILL take away our right’s as adults to choose what we want to do…
She has the most terrible cheeks I’ve seen on a person’s face. Ever.
lol obama ftw
Go to hell for saying that.
I’m not even considering her for a vote. She’s a Democrat, sure, but this kind of move is what aligns her as more of a social conservative to appeal to the middle of the road voters; definitely not indicative of all Democrats, that’s for sure. Not really rocket science, but she’s got a snowball’s chance in hell at getting the nomination anyway.
At our caucuses in the next few weeks, I’ll be supporting Obama all the way. And also, I’ll be damned if there’s a Republican now (besides Ron Paul, and even then that’s an iffy), or ever, that I’ll find might self voting for.
And seriously, we have a John McCain ad on our site now? Fucking gay.
I’m actually seeing a “Hillary for 2008?” ad on the site right now. IRONY!
I wasn’t planning on voting for her to begin with, but then I’m not a registered Democrat…
wow, I am DEFINITELY not going to vote for her now.
Wow, at least she tells us what she’s planning on taking from most gamers before she gets elected. But what gets to me most is that she’s butting in to the peoples domestic affairs. If she’s so concerned about what kids watch, play, or chat about over the use of any electronic outlet, then she should worry about her own damned child. It’s not my place to throw insults at her parenting, that’s her daughters job when she gets old enough to tell Hilary to piss off. This old bag of a woman has no idea wha kind of disater she’s going to get herself into when she dicides what right and what’s wrong for the people to view. I think the only action that should be taken is to keep the laws that we have to prohibit the sales of mature gamers of 17 and under in action.
