EA Announces Free Games for Rock Band Guitar Failures
For those of you currently experiencing the awesomeness that is Rock Band, you may already be aware that the guitar controllers are pieces of junk. I found that out about a day or two after purchasing the game, where down strumming doesn’t work at all. After sending an e-mail, I hadn’t heard back in over a weeks time, not that I was all that perturbed to begin with. This was the case with many gamers, however, and thus EA decided to offer a free game to those who had to wait; predictions of mediocre titles ensued.
Well, in my inbox this morning, I finally received a link to a form page at EA which lists the available titles I can pick from (not to mention today I got my replacement guitar back in, and I only shipped it on Wednesday last week, and I didn’t even ask for express shipping…SCORE!). So, are there some worthwhile games to be had? Or is it a shitstorm of bargain bin garbage? Hit the jump for a full listing to find out!

Not too bad, though not terribly impressive either. I’m probably going to go with The Simpsons Game, as it didn’t sound good enough to pay too much money for, but not bad enough to ignore entirely. Everything else on that list is just ‘meh’ to me, if not completely unplayable as my laptop couldn’t handle some of those PC titles. I guess it’s too bad there’s no Spore yet for some though, huh?
Relevant sidenote: While searching for the above picture on Google Image search, I managed to stumble across a rather interesting picture of a young woman with a Homer Simpson tattoo on her crotch, where her ‘cave-of-wonders’ was his mouth. I’m telling you, turning off the safe-search on Google can lead to some random entertainment.

More like you were searching for porn on Google Image search, and happened to find a picture of Homer, AMIRITE?
If I had that list to choose from, I’d take skate., no doubt. [Un]fortunately, my Rock Band guitar is still in perfect working order.
@zizzy: I can’t always fool the clever ones.
@Dex: I know skdate. is a great game and all, but I absolutely loathe skateboarding, skateboarders, the whole idea of skateboarding, etc. I feel I would get bored with it after sometime.
So I got my confirmation today for my free game and I picked NFS:Pro Street(Ps3). I figured even if I don’t like it I can still trade it in and get like 20 bucks for it, and I like free money anyway. I was kinda hoping Orange Box on ps3 would be on there so I could get that but oh well no big loss it is free.
Yeah, I was hoping for Orange Box as well. I figured they wouldn’t quite put that up for grabs, though. Oh well, free is free.
