Assassin’s Creed Sells 2.5 Million, Expected to Break 5 Million

The numbers have come in from Ubisoft, and it’s official.  Assassin’s Creed is the “fastest-selling new video game IP in US history”. Despite many of the mediocre reviews and glitches in the game (such as the broken legged horse), Assassin’s Creed has sold over 2.5 million copies globally. Ubisoft is now expecting to sell 5 million copies of the game before the company’s fiscal year ends in March 2008. According to Ubisoft the title has “greatly outstripped” its expected sales (no kidding?).

Jesus christ that is sick. I’m getting this for Christmas. This coupled with the DS means i’m giving more moeny to people who clearly don’t need it.

Another job well done by Ubisoft since the release of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Assassins Creed has shown what most video gamers usually dont see as single player diversity. The only games that i can compare to this one is GTA: San Adreas, Morrowind, and Oblivion. This game makes me want to play it over and over again. That’s what I usually look for in a game since the originallity factor has gone down since the new miliennium. Cliff hangers are a drag! But the upside is that there’s most likely going to be a sequal! Keep up the good work Ubisoft, your looking strong!
