MEGAMonday New Releases for the week of 10/29/07

Forgive the late post for MEGAMonday, yours truly has been busy marveling the Video Games Live show in Columbia, Missouri this past Sunday and writing a review for your pleasure. A MEGATONik video segment showcasing the festivities will be posted in due time, but first, a note about new releases this week…
It’s quite uncommon for the gaming industry to put out a new release with a retail street date set for the weekend. However, the public was more than ready and willing to get up off the couch this past Sunday, October 28 to pick up Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for either Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 or PS2.

Perhaps this move might overshadow any other anticipated games coming out this week. Nonetheless, as we enter the month of November, remind yourself that the best is yet to come.
There are a handful of releases this week to satisfy the avid PC gamer, including The Witcher, Hellgate: London, TimeShift and Tabula Rasa. The ever-controversial (and unimpressive) Manhunt 2 is released for Wii, PS2 and PSP. Save the world (yet again) this year with multi-platform The Simpsons Game on Tuesday. Series sequels also stand ready in the shadows as Battallion Wars 2 and Virtua Fighter 5 come out for Wii and 360, respectively.
Riddle me this: who has picked up GH? Who has not? What else could you be wasting precious years of your life on looks tantalizing?

Just Simpsons for me this week.
What’s that DS title on Tuesday? OMG?
I’m actually surprised to see BWii come out now. There has been little to no fanfare about the game, and the first BW game was decent (not great). I guess really, I’m waiting for the next Advance Wars game.
Nothing for me this week.
Too much fucking work/GHIII to play.
It’s called “O.M.G. 26 - Our Mini Games”. Yeah, corny as hell.
I purchased BW, but I was annoyed at the controls and obnoxious storyline that I never bothered finishing it. I imagine the Wii version and it’s controls will be much better (or at least I hope).
The next Advance Wars game couldn’t come sooner. I’ll clock another 100+ hours on it once more. I can’t get enough of that series.
Haven’t gotten Guitar Hero III yet, but I plan to soon. Then that’s it for a few weeks.
