Something about a Halo movie that might happen sometime. Maybe. Perhaps.

Halostradamus

Like a pendulum coated with billions of dollars, the Halo movie teases us once more with its potential badassery. Our eyes, trying hard to focus through copious tears of happiness and hope, glow with the passion of a thousand Spartan Lasers. We smile. And then it begins its dreadful swing back into a realm of obscurity, where German, no-name commercial directors butcher our hopes and dreams with shaky-cam garbage.

Peter Jackson’s representative, Ken Kamins, recently spoke out about the state of the Halo movie to Variety. Kamins stated that, despite the dropping out of both Fox and Universal, the Halo movie is still in pre-production. Furthermore, potential victim of various effigies, Neil Blomkamp, is still set to direct. Kamins makes it clear that they are very adamant about this dude. We call this kind of thing blind faith, because you’d have to be blind to like those live-action shorts.

Also, Peter Jackson’s a hack.

I was pretty disappointed with the short films as well. Let’s hope they tighten that shit up for the movie

I think they could make a pretty good movie, at least better than most video game movies. Unfortunately, that really isn’t saying much.

I though the last short was goddamn awesome though. It’s not exactly the kind of thing I think the Halo movie should be, but I still thought is was just cool to see things from Halo look so lifelike. You have to admit, seeing a brute get sniped by a marine or a spike grenade hurled at the last second at a banshee is pretty bad ass.

Something I just noticed: The linked article is from Oct. 19, 2006. Much more recently it was said that the movie is pretty much dead (at least for now), and I’m more inclined to believe a quote from a few months ago as opposed to a year ago.

If a movie is made, hopefully you can actually ‘hear’ the characters, unlike in the video games. If one game needed subtitles, Halo is it.

Shei… I mean, Sobriquet’s a little slow on the uptake, give him a break.

Where can I view these shorts? I haven’t seen them yet.

Backflip and I didn’t really look at the year. Whatevs, everyone else is posting this information. Source: Everyone else.

Not his fault, I’ve seen this posted a few other places today. As soon as one person overlooks the date, everyone just assumes it’s new.

But this post is funny and witty, whereas the others were mainly straightforward and uninteresting. Those were just stupid recycled content made to look new despite being a year old, while this actually has added value.

Here’s the three parts all as one:

The last segment is BY FAR the best. You can also download it off the marketplace in HD (it’s called “Landfall”) which I recommend if you have an HDTV since it looks great in HD.
