MEGAMonday New Releases for the week of 10/22/07
To be honest, this week’s post should be renamed MEGATuesday New Releases with the flood of games on shelves tomorrow. So as you’re sitting there reading, listening to Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend” this Monday afternoon, hit the jump to sneak a peek for what’s on tap this week.
This week is headlined by Clive Barker’s Jericho for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, the horror game set within the walled city of Jericho in northern Africa that just happens to be filled with demons, darkness and dildos deviants.
After previewing the demo myself on the Xbox 360 Marketplace, I’d say the lackluster Conan will disappoint many body-building, iron-pumping, vein-popping, testosterone-packed gamers who choose to pick it up this week.
PS3’s The Eye of Judgment is an innovative card battle game in which you can control the placement and attack of cards with your own hands, via Eye Toy technology. Sounds like some Yu-Gi-Oh! gimmick, but hey, why not milk that cash cow just a little longer? Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, a PS3 exclusive (*GASP*), is also worth checking out if you’ve enjoyed the series thus far.
Do try Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles which features a re-tooled Castlevania: Rondo of Blood with 3D graphics, as well as unlockable versions of the original Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night games. You can never get enough Castlevania in your system at any given time.
Oh! Almost forgot! Don’t forget to check out Wii’s Balloon Pop!!!…where, you know… you pop balloons…of all shapes and colors…yeah…

Finally! M&Ms Kart Racing!!!
Just Ratchet and Clank and the guitar hero 3 soundtrack for me this week.
I know Dex is going to post something to the effect of “ZOMG, another Phoenix Wright game, YES!”. You’ll see..
Balloon Pop, Dancing with the Stars, and M&M Kart Racing for the Wii all in one week? I need a Wii now.
Oh yeah, and Guitar Hero III is coming out Sunday. Better fix that before Kagato crucifies you for forgetting his favorite game EVAR.
Nah, I’ll be posting an early Sunday New Releases, just for this kind of event. Normally, the industry hardly ever releases games on the weekend, but GHIII will force me to make this exception.
Wait Age of Empires 3 comes out tomorrow its already on shelves today…
Same goes with Ratchet & Clank.
“The official date is still set for October 30,” a Sony rep said of the game. “However, the game manufacturing is complete and some retailers have already gotten their games in. They can start selling the game as early as the 23rd.”
Occasionally, retail stores will stock a game if they have gotten them in prior to an official date (unless, of course, it’s a high-profile game i.e. Halo et. al). Other times, it gets leaked into the hands of the public (*cough* Toys R’ Us *cough*), as is the case of GHIII.
Doesn’t Guilty Gear something-or-other come out this week?
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core came out last Tuesday for the Wii. If you haven’t seen it on the shelves yet, it’s most likely an unannounced developer delay.

Goddamn you masterledz. I saw the Phoenix Wright game there, and noticed you said NOTHING about it in your post (for shame), and I was JUST ABOUT to say “ZOMG, the new Phoenix Wright game is finally coming out?!” I hate you.
If I had a PS3, I’d definitely pick up R&CF:ToD, and if I had a PSP, I’d definitely pick up Castlevania, but alas, I have neither. I probably won’t buy anything this week, despite Trials and Tribulations coming out, because I still haven’t even started playing Phantom Hourglass yet. =_(

I’ll be all about Guilty Gear Accent Core then. Haven’t seen it around, heard it got shit reviews on the Wii SOLELY because the Wii-mote/nunchuck combo sucks, despite the fact that the classic controller works for it and it is said to play perfectly fine that way (gotta love reviews sometimes), though the higher rated PSdeuce version is purportedly bug laced. Those games are fucking insane.
