Crysis could come to consoles, but they’d have to “discover how it all works”

By zizzy

Crysis is looking great so far, but unfortunately for anyone whose computer isn’t quite up to the task of running it or only plays games on consoles, it’s exclusive to high end PCs. However, there is a chance that it will eventually come to consoles - they just need to figure out how to make a game meant for hardware costing thousands of dollars run on a measly few hundred bucks of technology.

Obviously consoles have memory constraints, so we would have to look at the size of the levels and maybe introduce some sort of streaming ability

Plus, years of PC development mean they’d need to discover how these new fangled console things work.

Gameplay-wise we would need to consider the controller and how actions can be carried out on it. But Crytek have spent the last 6-7 years working on PC titles. We haven’t done a lot with consoles – we’d have to discover how it all works

That seems like it would be worth it to make a shit load more money make the game available to millions more who won’t get to play it other wise. Hopefully they’ll decide to put in the extra effort and figure out how to turn on their consoles so they can get this game working on them.
