Halo 3 Ms. Master Chief Figure Up for Auction; Nerdgasms Abound

I fought the urge to post yet another Halo 3 eBay auction showcase with all my strength. However, if the Halo 3 Asthma Inhaler and Master Chief Armor both tickled your fancy, then behold the Ms. Master Chief Spartan Statue up for auction.
Artist David Johnson has put up his sculpted figure Ms. Master Chief for sale, which is made from polymer clay. The super sexy sculpture is 11.5 inches tall to the tip of her sniper rifle and is one-of-a-kind. The artist insists that this is the only one in existence since no molds were used to create her nor were taken from her.
The starting price starting this past Thursday, September 27th was US $199.99. The current highest bid as of Saturday, September 29th is US $285.00. The auction lasts until October 4th, so only 5 more days ’till Bill Gates, some pervert, myself a fanboy becomes very happy. 10% of the profits from the sale will go to support the American Breast Cancer Foundation (oh, how appropriate). You can check out some other sculpture work on Johsnon’s deviantART page.
I think we all just had a nerdgasm. Don’t lie, don’t try to hide it, you “Bungie’d” in the pants, didn’t you? Perhaps you’ll need an official Halo 3 Condom sometime in the near future you sexually frustrated reader, you.
5 commentsHalo 3 Runs on Non-HD 640p Resolution; Bungie Now 80p in Deep Debt

Many gamers this week have scurried around the rumor mill regarding the startling discovery by “internet Matlocks” that Halo 3 runs at a “640p” graphic resolution (Pro tip: technically, that’s not a resolution). Interweb investigators noticed that Halo 3’s vertical resolution, when captured from a frame buffer, is indeed 640 pixels.
So what’s the point here, you ask? Were we shortchanged high-definition since Halo 3 is not at a 720p resolution? Is there really such a noticeable difference in the overall visual experience?
Luke Smith, the former 1UP journalist who’s now part of Bungie, confirmed the Halo 3 640p accusation earlier today. However, on the same token, Smith explains how it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between 640p and 720p in regards to Halo 3. Hit the jump pad for highlights quoted from the Bungie.net news post addressing these gaming graphic concerns.
2 commentsRock Band price set, release date announced; Guitar Hero packs its bags
Thanks to MTV’s Multiplayer blog (shit, I can’t believe I just linked MTV), we now know the price and release date of the Guitar Hero killer, Rock Band. The Xbox 360/PS3 package, that includes the game, a wired/wireless guitar, respectively, a microphone and a drum set will release on November 23rd of this year for a measley $170, $30 less than everyone was expecting. The Playstation 2 bundle, however, will drop on December 10th for $160, a Jackson cheaper than the 360 and PS3 versions.
Look out, Guitar Hero, Rock Band is almost here!
8 commentsRumormill: Original Xbox 360 Core to be discontinued

Kotaku reports that GameStop managers have been instructed to take down any signs advertising the Xbox 360 Core package to prepare for the new Core package which contains the console, 256MB memory card and wireless controllers. The old package, for all of you out of the loop, is the most basic of all Xbox 360 packages and just contains the console itself, without any memory device, and a sole wired controller. Let’s hope that this rumor turns out to be true, so that even the cheapest of the cheap can save their games without being forced to buy separate overpriced memory cards.
5 commentsGameTrailers interviews Assassin’s Creed’s Jade Raymond; Chicks that know their history are hot
One thing you may or may not know about me is that I really enjoy history, especially medieval history. I don’t know what it is about this interview, but Jade Raymond, the producer of Assassin’s Creed, totally gives me a boner. Maybe it’s her extensive knowledge of early twelfth-century history that has got me. Or it could be those long, batty eyelashes and huge DSL’s. Either way, this video interview gives us a good look into what we can expect out of Assassin’s Creed, namely huge, interactive environments and fantastical gameplay. Yes, fantastical.
Oh, and there is also some great gameplay footage in there. Don’t ask me where, though; I was too busy staring into the eyes of my future wife.
2 commentsSSBB has a Tourney mode; Jessica Biel has boobs
Slow news day, eh? In all honestly, I don’t care that Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Nintendo Wii has a newly announced Tournament Mode. I just wanted an excuse to post a picture of possibly one of the hottest women alive, Jessica Biel. What does Biel have to do with anything? Well, erm, if given the chance … I’m sure she’d play Brawl. And then you could roofie her vodka and cranberry juice and have your way with her.
As far as Brawl’s Tournament mode goes, it really is just more of the same; it looks almost identical to the tournament mode in Melee. Of course, if they had somehow worked this to use WiiConnect24, which I’m sure they haven’t, it could be a great new feature to a solid-looking game. But, according to Masahiro Sakurai, this fruit bag, it would be great fun with a bunch of friends! If you’re not the most popular kid on the block, though, disregard what I’ve said and go pop some pills.

8 commentsThe Simpson’s Game: Neverquest
A new trailer for The Simpson’s Game is out, this one for the Neverquest level. There was already a trailer for the “Medal of Homer” level, and these are only two of the games that will appear in some form in The Simpson’s Game - which is looking like it’s going to be well done and pretty hilarious.
3 commentsTriple Jump For Joy: Mario & Sonic Olympic Games Footage
Looks pretty cool, yet still pretty odd. I kind of feel like without all of the people jumping, and the extreme music playing, it wouldn’t be as fun…I’m still hyped up for this though.
7 commentsZombie Massacre: The Movie, Uwe Boll: The Director, Cortez: Anticipating

I’m a HUGE fan of bad movies, and an even bigger zombie film fan. Combine the two, and you get the huge ball of shit that Uwe Boll will deliver in 2009, Zombie Massacre. Zombie Massacre is an upcoming shooting and driving game that allows up to four players at once to play, developed by 1988 Games. Zombie Massacre will be releasing on the Nintendo’s Wii, with no screenshots or release date known as of yet.
Boll comments on the movie:
“I want to make this movie more creepy than House of the Dead, which was intended to be funny and campy. I’d like Zombie Massacre to be a harsh zombie movie like 28 Days Later.
Someone should tell Boll that House of the Dead wasn’t creepy at all to begin with and 28 Days Later is NOT a zombie movie. Anyway, I honestly can’t wait for both the game and the movie to appear. The game because it’s a fun fast-paced zombie light gun shooter, the movie because I have a feeling it’ll be pretty bad, yet enjoyable.
6 commentsFive Amazing Gaming Moments

There are times in games when you are just taken aback by how amazing a certain part is. An incredible moment that blends design, graphics, gameplay, story, and audio perfectly. A brilliantly executed moment that is the pinnacle of that game, and even gaming in general. Presented here, 5 of those such moments - but instead of just one writer’s opinion, each of us has selected the moment we remember most vividly as some of the best gaming we’ve experienced.
11 commentsRap Video Referencing Video Games Does Not Make the Booty Go Clap
Enter “Sharks”, a song by Canadian rapper, Cadence Weapon, from his 2005 album Breaking Kayfabe. Nevermind the completely unrelated lyrics to the visuals; the video pays a homage to numerous video games. Among the games alluded to are Super Mario Bros. 3, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Rampage and Double Dragon. The beginning and end of the video even references Street Fighter in the form of it’s logo text for the title of the song and artist (look closely at the high score initial entries at the end).
Stop biting my s***, indeed.
1 commentSUPER SECRET UPDATE: Gaming Mole Reports Xbox 360 Retail Changes & Pack-in Games for October; Pre-Orders Now Taken Down

[UPDATE 2.0: The links posted previously for the bundle pre-orders that appeared just hours ago on Best Buy's website can no longer be accessed or they no longer exist. 16 commentsHalo 3 Asthma Inhaler Up for Auction to Suck On if You Suck

This possibly takes the cake for the most ridiculous Halo 3 paraphernalia to date, albeit the Master Chief Armor that sold for over $21,000 comes at a close second. Pictured above is a Halo 3 Inhaler up for auction on ebay. The starting bid is US $19.95 with the auction lasting until October 2 at 13:23:21 PDT. One redeeming quality about this auction is that the sale of this product goes to help a good cause; 50% of the final sale price will go to support the American Lung Association of Washington.
I’m at a loss for words when I take a look at the auction page. The product description is even more ridiculous than the inhaler itself. Hit the start jump to take your breath away.
10 commentsHalo 3 Midnight Launch: Prescott, Arizona

There were huge Halo 3 launch parties across America and the rest of the world (although later). Those were the ones that got covered, that everyone wanted to be at, and that no doubt had by far the worst lines and wait times. While those select cities may have made the biggest deal out of Halo 3’s launch, thousands of other retailers were open across the country to make sure everyone got their copy as early as possible (without being incredibly lucky or downloading it illegally). One such midnight launch happened in Prescott, Arizona, and I was there for it all.
It may not have had the flash and flare of the big city launches, but there were less people to wait behind and it was still plenty of fun.
