Heavenly Sword is only possible through the power of Blu-ray!11!!lolz!!1

Heavenly Sword probably isn’t a very good game, but that isn’t stopping the developers from adding more fuel to the console war fire in a recent interview with CVG. In the interview, you’ll find such quotes from chief designer Nina Kristensen as:

“We have jam-packed the Blu-Ray disc absolutely full,”

“We used compression all over the place. We had to be really judicious at the end with what was going on the disc and what wasn’t.

“I think it’s one of those things - if you give us the space we’re going to fill it with stuff. It means the audio can be of a higher quality and stuff like that. It all adds to the quality of the package,”

She also mentions that the soundtrack takes up a whopping 10 gigs on the disc. Ridiculous. It really seems like the game would of been much better had they put more effort into the actual gameplay and story, rather than padding up the disc with useless 7.1 surround sound that nobody has.

Considering there are plenty of games (like BioShock) that are MUCH better than this game and fit perfectly fine on a DVD, the Heavenly Sword developers just aren’t as good. They need to learn about quality over quantity.

Thank you! I’ve felt this way about Heavenly Sword since I first started hearing about it. It just looks like a next gen clone of God of War. What is everybody so excited about?

    yup definitely a GoW clone…

OH!! Wait.. it was in development 2 years before Gow was even released…

And although a short game, it is FUN! and it’s definitely doing a helluva good job merging cinematics with games

What?? Heavenly Sword is a GREAT game. Yes, it’s short, and yes they did put in a lot of extras, but I couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. GOD OF WAR clone?? The only thing similar is the “blades on a chain” weapon. This game is so much more. It’s got an in-depth story that keeps you interested in the game. Other games have you fighting the same levels and enemies over and over again, but disguised as something different in order to fool you. The “Aftertouch” feature is a lot of fun, and very original. (I love throwing bodies!)

Waitaminute! They were developing HS before GOW ever came out! Get your facts right!

    Sincerly,
